information about our Company
The company Pohadka Ltd. has
followed up with the long-term traditions of the Czech
marionette manufacturing and the puppet theatre development.
We would like to offer to the native and foreign customers
the extended collection of the Czech puppets and marionettes
ranging from the traditional toy-like ones up to the pieces
of art created by our famous theatrical authors and
marionette manufacturers.
The following assortment
consists of hand-made wooden toys, cloth material ones and
the souvenirs connected with the themes developed at our
strores. First of all these are the Czech mechanical toys,
stacking games and puzzles. All of these articles develop
children´s skills, imagination, creavtivity, fast reactions,
they are rather useful while teaching the motorics with
small children . We also put up for sale the traditional
souvenir-like Czech and Slovakian folk costumes dolls and
the toy dolls in various versions.
From 1995 our toy-shopping
company has encreased the offer of the Czech toys with the
products of native large and small toy-manufacturing
companies , of artists doing for children , theatrical and
gift articles. We also cooperate with the collectioners of
the pieces of arts that work in the same branch.
Our assortment is completed with such children´s toy-stuff
as the boxes of bricks, chess, hand-made wooden and metal
puzzles (brain teasers), the replicas of some hisorical
armour and the Slavonic hand-painted matryoshkas (nesting
dolls).
Our shopping activity is
intended to satisfy the requested variety of the toy-stuff
and first of all the native Czech-made toy-products that are
put on sale at our stores.
  
The History of Our Company
The project „ České tvorby“ (the Czech arts) was put into
practice in 1993 in the historical centre of Prague . Its
purpose was to advertise the folk and artistic , theatrical
and cinema Czech arts. In such a way the Czech made products
were to raise the cultural level of Prague centre itself as
well as the international image of the metropoly as the
important centre of the all-European folk culture.
In the frame of this
project we started to cooperate with the book authors ,
artists and film makers of the children´s world.
From 1997 we have extended
the sphere of our activites and except the commercial
projects we have been working on the cooperation with
nurseries , elementary schools and other educational
establishments.
Presently with the strong
support of the owner we run our retail-house with the
departments of marionettes and hand-puppets, wooden toys,
small souvenirs representing the Czech native manufacture of
toy and gift stuff , special chess department with the chess
versions of battles from the Czech and world history , the
department of historical armour replicas and the minimuseum
of puzzles.
 
Motivation
The whole project of our
toy-shopping company has to complete continuously the
commercially-cultural presentation of the Czech national toy
and souvenir manufacture and the promotion of educational
toy-themes. We are eager to improve the assortment of our
goods.
